About our Thai Massage
To experience Thai massage for the first time is to realise how much tension your body has normalised. Developed over 2,500 years ago at the intersection of Ayurvedic medicine, yoga philosophy, and traditional Chinese medicine, Thai massage is performed fully clothed on a comfortable floor mat, there is no oil, no passive lying still, no single area of focus.
Instead, your therapist uses their hands, forearms, elbows, knees, and feet to move your body through a continuous, flowing sequence of assisted stretches, joint mobilisations, and acupressure compressions that works simultaneously on the muscular, skeletal, and energetic systems. The technique targets the body’s Sen lines, the network of energy pathways through which life force is understood to flow, releasing the blockages that manifest as stiffness, fatigue, chronic pain, and emotional heaviness.
The rhythmic rocking and assisted stretching decompress the vertebrae, mobilise the joints through ranges of motion many clients have not accessed in years, and lengthen the fascia in ways that static stretching alone cannot achieve. You will leave walking differently. Standing taller. Breathing more fully. Feeling, in the most literal sense, like a new person.
Why it works
The Benefits
Releases deep fascial tension
Assisted stretching and acupressure release tension held in the muscles and surrounding fascia in ways that passive massage cannot.
Restores joint mobility
Systematic joint mobilisation restores range of motion that has been lost to habitual posture, desk work, and physical stress.
Decompresses the spine
Rhythmic traction and assisted stretching decompress the vertebrae and relieve the nerve pressure that causes referred pain.
Clears energetic blockages
Acupressure along the body's Sen lines restores vitality and reduces the fatigue associated with stagnant energy.
